Request an Appointment
The fastest way to schedule with Personalized Orthopedics of the Palm Beaches is to call our office. Our team can book you with the right physician, check your insurance and tell you what to bring. If you prefer, you can also use our online scheduling page, and our team will follow up.
What happens when you call
When you call, our scheduling team will ask a few questions so we can book the right visit:
- What part of the body is bothering you, and how and when the problem started.
- Whether you have seen another doctor for it or had X-rays or an MRI.
- Your insurance plan, so our staff can verify your eligibility and benefits.
- Whether the problem is related to a work injury.
We will then offer you an appointment time and let you know about any referral or paperwork you need before the visit.
Choosing the right specialist
You do not need to know which physician to see. Our team will match you based on your symptoms. As a general guide, hip and knee arthritis and joint replacement are seen by Dr. Martin and Dr. Kerr; sports injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow by Dr. Wolfson, Dr. Chalal and Dr. Press; hand, wrist and elbow problems by Dr. Tucker; back and neck pain by Dr. Baskin; and non-surgical sports medicine and injections by Dr. Adelman.
If you would like to see a particular physician, just ask when you call.
Before your visit
- Referral: if you have an HMO or managed-care plan, the referral from your primary care physician must be in our office before your visit, or the appointment will be rescheduled.
- Insurance card and photo ID: bring both to every visit.
- Imaging: if you had X-rays, an MRI or a CT scan somewhere else, bring the images and reports, or ask that they be sent to us.
- Medications: bring a list of your medications and allergies.
- Payment: co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles are due at the time of your visit.
Workers' compensation and urgent injuries
We accept workers' compensation. If your injury happened at work, tell us when you call and have your claim information, employer and insurance carrier details ready. We coordinate your evaluation, treatment and return-to-work planning and handle the required documentation with your employer and carrier.
For a new injury, call us as soon as you can so we can find the earliest suitable appointment. Do not wait for an appointment if you have a suspected fracture with deformity, cannot bear weight, lose bladder or bowel control, have sudden severe weakness, or have signs of infection after surgery such as fever, spreading redness or drainage. Go to the emergency room or call 911.
